About Windgather Press

The very first Windgather Press publication, the first issue of the journal Landscapes, was published in April 2000. Around six new titles and two journals issues a year are published under the imprint, which was acquired in December 2007 by Oxbow Books Ltd, mainly in landscape archaeology, natural history and rural history. The books are designed to be attractively illustrated and accessible, and to bring these exciting subjects to as broad an audience as possible, without losing a commitment to high academic standards; they always have endnotes, indexes and bibliographies so that readers can take their interest in the subjects covered to the next stage.
